Tessellation Defined

An arrangement of shapes closely fitted together, especially of polygons in a repeated pattern without gaps or overlapping.

How These Tessellations Are Created

Each tessellation image is one of my photographs multiplied four times. Each instance of the photograph is rotated to create the final image. Often the final image is a result of testing multiple rotations to determine the most interesting result. I find that my photographs containing strong lines work best.
